Cancellation and billing policy

This policy explains how lessons, classes and camps are booked, cancelled and charged at Lee Fencing Academy, doing business as Globus Fencing Academy ("Globus"). All times are the academy's local time (Central Time). Each booking screen in the app shows the cancellation rule that applies, in one line, before you confirm.

1. Weekly lessons

When you book a weekly lesson time, you book it for every week that remains in the season. Each lesson is charged on the monthly statement for the month in which it takes place.

2. Cancelling a lesson

• If you cancel a lesson in the app at least 24 hours before it starts, you are not charged for it. If you already paid for it, you receive a credit for the full amount.
• If you cancel less than 24 hours before the lesson starts, or the fencer does not attend, the lesson is charged in full.

3. Giving up a weekly lesson time

You can give up a weekly lesson time in the app. All of its future lessons are cancelled, and each one follows section 2: lessons more than 24 hours away are not charged, and a lesson less than 24 hours away is charged. The app shows you which lessons are affected, and what you will be charged, before you confirm.

4. Private (single) lessons

• A private lesson is paid for when you book it, from your saved debit card or bank account. While a card payment completes, the time is held for you for 10 minutes. If the payment does not go through, the time is released and nothing is charged.
• Cancelling follows section 2: cancel at least 24 hours before the start and you receive a credit for the full amount; cancel later, or miss the lesson, and it is not credited.

5. When the academy cancels

If the academy cancels a lesson, for example because a coach is unavailable or the academy is closed, you are not charged for it, or you receive a credit for the full amount if you already paid. We tell you in the app.

6. Classes

Monthly class fees are charged for each month in which a fencer is enrolled, starting with the month of enrollment; a partial month is not reduced. A class continues every month until you withdraw the fencer.
